Newman Lira is a passionate advocate for science and technology education. As the founder of Instituto Polymathos and a NASA citizen science collaborator, he's dedicated to making computer science accessible, especially in underserved communities. A bronze medalist in the 2024 International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) and a member of Mensa International, Newman combines academic excellence with impactful outreach. Through Polymathos, he has engaged over 1000 students annually in Olympiads across various STEM fields, including an upcoming AI Olympiad. As an ICSC Ambassador, Newman plans to lead Python programming workshops focused on AI and automation, establish local study groups, and leverage his network to inspire over 800 students by 2025, with a strong emphasis on gender inclusion. He aims to empower the next generation of tech talent and foster a thriving computer science community.
